More "original" food outlets from Ngong Ping. One of the must trys is their beancurd dessert which we did.

I embarked on the slow climb up to the Tian Tan Buddha as Wife and Aiken were too tired to climb up. There was a total of 268 steps to the top.
The statue is named Tian Tan Buddha because its base is a model of the Altar of Heaven or Earthly Mount of Tian Tan.

1517h (HK TIME)

Took about 5mins to the top. Weak...haha...but it sure feels tranquil and peaceful.

The Tian Tan Buddha is surrounded by six smaller bronze statues known as "The Offering of the Six Devas" and are posed offering flowers, incense, lamp, ointment, fruit, and music to the Buddha.

View from the top.

Another view of the big Buddha before I walk slowly down to the bottom as my legs were aching.

Got my mum and wife some souvenirs from this shop at the bottom.

1539h (HK TIME)

Afterwhich, we made our way to the Po Lin Monastery which is just opposite the Tian Tan Buddha.
The Tian Tan Buddha is actually an extension of this monastery.

Entrance to the monastery.

The monastery main temple.

The main shrine hall of Buddha.

The hall enshrines Buddhas of Three Worlds, Buddha Sakyamuni of our World in the middle, Buddha Bhaisajyaguru (Master of Healing) on the left, and Buddha Amitabha (Buddha of Unlimited Light and Life Spans) on the right.
