The church was built in the early 17th century. In 1835, a fire destroyed all but the facade of the church.

The Na Tcha Temple built in 1888 is located just adjacent to the Ruins of St Paul. The deity Na Tcha holds a special place in my heart and wherever I go, if there is a Na Tcha Temple, I will sure go and offer my prayers.

Mount Fortress provided an effective defence against attack by the Dutch in 1622, but was later take over as the governor's residence. Today, it houses the Museum of Macau.
