The ride to the hotel was RMB97 and took slightly more than an hour. We stayed at Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel. Location was convenient and near to the Wangfujing walking street.

Room was slightly small but still ok.

They supposedly upgraded me to one with a view of Forbidden City. Can see those palaces with the yellow roof.

Hungry, time to go look for food. We were staying in Room 1505.

You know you are in China when even the lift lobby are decorated with Chinese mystical creatures.

1725h (PEK TIME)

Walking on Wangfujing street. We are about 800m to the main shopping belt along WFJ street.

Catholic church in the day, dancing grounds in the night...

Quite nice to walk along this Wangfujing street. Vehicles, bicycles are not allowed through this area.

Our first meal in Beijing. Peking duck @ QuanJuDe restaurant.

Ordered this Peony Duck @ RMB288.

We came at the right time. When we left, there was a long queue at the door. There was a 30mins wait for the duck.

The chef will show you the duck and do the carving beside your table.

Reason for it being called the Peony duck. Nicely placed on the plate with peony leaves and the duck meat as its flower.
